At Kids Alive, we walk alongside vulnerable children as they navigate the harsh realities of trauma such as abuse, sexual violence, and neglect. Our team is committed to providing a place of safety and protection - a safe haven - to heal those traumatic wounds and build communities where violence and trauma are reduced. As a Safe Haven Champion, you support our family strengthening, protective care, and justice advocacy programs. These programs involve residential homes, reunification, job skills, parent trainings, government collaboration, and victim advocacy and restoration.
Valentina*, 17, shared that she has experienced God’s goodness in her life, recognizing His kindness and faithfulness despite all she has been through. Through it all, God continues to show her His goodness every day, so that she can also show it to other people.
The love of God profoundly impacts Valentina’s life, as she knows He is always with us. He offers us His love every day, even though we are humans who sin and fall short. She understands that His love is unconditional, despite our mistakes, despite everything we do. On the day He gave Himself up for us [Jesus dying on the cross], He did so out of the love He has for us.

Leoncín* (age 17) did not know God until he arrived at Juniper Tree, where he experienced His goodness and accepted Him as Lord and Savior. He met kind people who showed him love by caring for him, protecting him, and supporting his personal and spiritual growth. He’s grateful for God’s provision, which sustains him and empowers him to pursue higher education.
God shows His love for Leoncín by giving him health, encouragement, peace, and perseverance. Through His love, God allowed Leoncín to complete his study in Hospitality and Tourism. He is grateful to God for surrounding him with people who show affection, care, and guidance, especially his psychologist, who has displayed empathy and built trust, showing sincere interest and walking with him through both good and difficult moments. He feels God’s love in the answers to his prayers and for watching over his family—his mother and siblings—especially for the improvements in his mother’s behavior, as she seems more stable in her emotions and decisions.
