Alive Moments September 2024

Donors like YOU help make #IMPACTTHATHEALS!

Your support helps us reflect the love of Jesus as we provide holistic care for those who need it most.

“And I will provide a place for my people and will plant them so that they may have a home. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore as they did in the beginning." - 2 Samuel 7:10

Kids Alive advocates for the marginalized through our Restorative Education, Protective Care, Family Strengthening, and Justice Advocacy programs. We're excited to share September Alive Moments that show God's faithfulness and the fruits of our efforts in making a lasting impact.

Dominican Republic

27 youth and adult leaders hiked the 17-mile trail to the top of Pico Duarte, the highest peak in the Caribbean, experiencing God's creation and reaching new heights together. Along rugged trails, they discussed the importance of loving and obeying God and encouraging one another through personal challenges. This adventure deepened faith, strengthened bonds, and taught valuable lessons about perseverance and step-by-step focus. Praise God!

Guatemala

KAG launched a new initiative in Escuintla, creating a healing community through a survivor-led network to empower survivors of sexual violence and their families to heal and become leaders in their communities. We hosted an Escuintla Survivor’s Network meeting, and we're excited to continue further meetings like this. By strengthening community bonds, fostering friendships, and creating peer-led safe spaces, this network of survivors helps nurture one another in their journey of healing and foster community change.

Kenya

Hall Mead Academy started its third term. Many children from neighboring communities are excited to return, looking forward to the nutritious meals they receive and the high-quality education. We emphasize holistic development, focusing on physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and social growth. Our school staff nurture responsible, self-driven students who will contribute to building healthy, sustainable communities free of fear and violence.

Haiti

We were excited to support students during the summer, and now, as the start of the school year commences, we anticipate that the Lord will do amazing things! Our Summer Camp was an extremely important place of safety, love, and nurturing during this time in Haiti. The children engaged in academic and physical activities, learning new skills in sports and trades, allowing students to acquire new knowledge while having fun.

Peru

Kids Alive Peru hosted productive workshops in Lima, Andahuaylas, and Pucallpa. Llosy is one of the participants who was empowered by our Kids Alive program to run her own business. She desired to help her daughters walk towards a brighter future. Thanks to support from donors and KAI, this dream was made a reality.

Zambia

Kids Alive Academy partnered with Village of Hope Clinic for a successful health week with medical examinations and health talks for the children. The team of health practitioners examined 410 children and was able to provide various medical support for their needs.

Annual health checkups provide non-emergency healthcare to children in our Restorative Education programs, helping detect medical conditions early enough to reverse the illness.

Lebanon

Ali, Alaa, and Bilal, residential boys at KAL, graduated! These young men overcame difficult circumstances, with Ali becoming the first in his family to graduate. On their graduation day, they stood surrounded by KAL staff who supported them throughout their journey. Now, as they prepare for higher education, they hope to serve as positive influences for others.
